
“Commensal” rodents; effectively they “live of mans table”
Commensal rodents in Britain which are considered ‘pests’ are :
The Common, The Norway, Sewer or Brown Rat (Rattus norvegicus)
The Ship Rat, Roof Rat or Black Rat (Rattus rattus)
The House Mouse (Mus domesticus)
Field mice, Wood mice, Common dormice, Water vole and Bank vole and some of the other species of rodent found in Britain and are often confused as pests. These rodents are not to be purposely controlled by rodenticide uses and do not fall into the commensal rodent category.
